The final book by Pier Paolo Pasolini, in which he returns to his mother’s Friulian dialect shortly before his death and which serves as the basis for a new cycle of works by Sergej Newski. The restaurant in Geneva in which Heinz Holliger found his first compositional inspiration, the escalation from background noise to a furiously virtuosic piece for percussion. The page containing a poem set to music first for the 75th birthday and then quite differently again for the 90th birthday of Holliger’s friend Pierre Boulez. The waves of the pond in Tokyo’s Nanzen-ji Garden which, alongside the wave of gravel formed by human hand, touches off a »play of the elements in music« by Isabel Mundry. And the wind, which in St. John’s Gospel »blows where it pleases«, thus conjuring up »ecstatic« moments of tranquility in Mark Andre’s new Drei Stücke. In its concert in the Reaktor, the Collegium Novum Zürich lays out a delicate mosaic of inspiration, interplay, transformation and development.
