The 55 years than separate the founding of die reihe and the Schallfeld Ensembles become apparent: Since it was set up in 2013, Schallfeld has focussed on diversity, innovating concert stagings and a young, adventurous composers' scene. Schallfeld, set up after the musicians completed their studies with »Professor Klangforum« in Graz, does not think in categories of borders – after all, they come from eight different countries. Just as international is the group of composers selected for the ensemble's debut program in the Mozart-Hall: Cathy van Eck (Belgium / the Netherlands /Switzerland), Sylvain Marty (France), Lorenzo Troiani (Italy) and Diana Soh (Singapore / France). As far as precision, virtuosity and sporting spirit are concerned, Schallfeld can certainly count as being of the top of its age class. That's what South Tyrol's Hannes Herschbaumer, winner of the Erste Bank Composition Prize in 2017, is counting on with the new live-electronic approach he uses in the world premiere written especially for this concert.
